World Moyamoya Day
World Moyamoya Day is on 6 May each year, when we get together to raise awareness and understanding of those affected by Moyamoya Disease, and we try and share our stories with the wider community.
On 9 March 2021, we were advised by the Hon. Ben Morton MP, Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Assistant Minister to the Minister for the Public Service, and Assistant Minister for Electoral Matters, that National days may be observed without a proclamation or intervention by the Australian Government. With that in mind, we hereby declare that World Moyamoya Day on 6 May be recognised in the Australian Calendar. We intend to continue raising the profile of World Moyamoya Day in the Australian community.
If you would like to know more about World Moyamoya Day, you can check out the Facebook group.
